Three Protesters Of ‘Gorkha Land’ Support Killed

Three Gorkha Janmukti Morcha protesters were killed in fresh clashes of Yesterday that broke out in Darjeeling on Day 6 of the GJM’s indefinite shutdown over the Gorkhaland issue. The party has claimed that three of its supporters were killed after police opened fire on them. However, the police have refuted GJM’s claims. Earlier today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who while addressing a press conference had said that a cop had been killed by protesters using a knife. She later backtracked and denied the police officer’s death. She clarified later that an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) officer Kiran Tamang was critically injured in clashes with GJM protesters. -
