The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) collected more revenue generated from taxation on adverts than the set target and that too with just one month left till the end of the ongoing fiscal year.The KMC collected Rs 15.5 million more than the set target of Rs 50 million. KMC has so far raised Rs 65.5 million, said KMC Revenue Division Chief, Druba Kafle.Kafle added that the metropolis had collected Rs 41.7 million in the fiscal year 2015/16. The KMC has been clamping down on companies flouting the advertisement regulation and contributing towards disfiguring the city.It took action against companies blocking the window and setting up windows while installing advertisement boards, using adverts in public land properties and setting up big advertisement boards in insecure manner.
