You’ll be amazed at how many people follow the news. Even if you want to keep up to date with what came up on the news, turning the T.V. on is pretty much a waste of time. You can always ask around on what is going on in the world and learn just as much in a 5 minute conversation as you would of in an hour of watching the news. Sure your friends might be bias about the subject, but so is the media. There is not much of a difference. I generally try to avoid watching too much news myself. It gets in the way of me living my life. If you feel inclined to stay up to date with what is going on there are better ways to do it, reading blogs or having a conversation with someone are both a little more intellectually stimulating than turning on that old boob tube.
