gorkhaland and sikkim

When was the last thing you heard something good on the news? It doesn’t happen very often. If there was 200 great things to report in a day and 1 bad thing the news will focus their energy on that one bad thing and forget about the rest. Why do they do this? Because that is what sells! That is what gets people to watch. You’ve got to remember the news is more about entertaining people than about reporting what is going on in the world. Just like any other program they want to increase their ratings and their viewership. What would get your attention better? “criminal kidnaps 5 high school students” or “5K rally collects 10 million to help fight cancer”? Chances are you’d rather watch the first one, you want to make sure the kids made it out ok. Even if it doesn’t affect you it catches your eye, it makes you mad, and it stresses you out. The news is made to entertain people, and their main focus is to get ratings. The way they do this is by reporting the bad stuff because the bad stuff gets your temperature rising and makes you want to learn more.
